The 42nd Cheoyong Culture Festival is to be held

Dear All Foreign Communities Leaders/Members and Friends Interested,

First of all I would say “Thank you very much for your unconditional supports and participations to our many programs such as UIVC(Ulsan International Volunteer Center) Speech Contest, International Flea Market Festival, Gangdong Seafoods Festival, Jung-Gu Foreigners Talent Contest, etc..”. I believe you really enjoyed the times.
Again I am very pleased to inform you of one of the most famous and largest festival in Ulsan and you are eagerly requested to come and enjoy them. Feast your ears with world music and let’s join in Cheoyong Parade!!!

The 42nd Cheoyong Culture Festival is to be held from October 2nd to 5th in both Ulsan Art and Culture Center (Dal-dong) and Dal-dong Park. During the festival you can taste a variety of music from all over the world. Building on the last year's success, this year, 250 artists of 20 teams from 22 different countries will please your ears with all sorts of music such as Argentine tango, Portuguese fado, gypsy music from various countries and more. There will also be the 9th Ulsan Jazz Festival at the same venue from October 3rd to 5th. Cheoyong Culture Festival is like a live music performance market where you can pick whatever you want to l! isten to. And there's much more to explore like culture exhibition, wine and food market, Tribe of Doris workshop, international symposium and CHEOYONG PARADE.

Don't you want to be a real part of the festival as one of Ulsan community member? The Festival office would like to have foreign residents join the Cheoyong parade wearing glamorous masks. From 5:30 to 6:30 on October 4th(Sat), in the parade, various performance group, Korean traditional marching band, flagmen, car parade, and WORLD MASK PARADE group will walk around the Ulsan Art and Culture Center block and many local citizens along with Mayor will follow the parade.
Australia's 'Afro-colombian rock and roots' band Watussi(invited to the 2008 Ulsan World Music Festival) will play Latin music and famous Salsa tunes and samba girls will accompany you followed by Korean traditional percussion troupe.

All the masks are rent free of charge. It will surely bring the festival to life with all the excitement and atmosphere among people who take part in the parade. To join the parade, you can sign up on the Cheoyong website, http://www.cheoyong.or.kr/. Vi! sit the website and click "English" button and find the menu named "Community" and you'll see the notice sign. Please read the notice and registration should be a breeze.
At the end of the parade, you'll get a small souvenir for your participation when you return your mask to the temporary office booth in Daldong Park.
The deadline for sign-up is September 16th.
